The Joot Arm Dining Chair introduces textural depth and open geometric structure to the dining space. Built with an open solid wood frame and tensioned natural jute cord, its low-profile silhouette provides comfortable arm support while preserving clear sightlines across open-plan interiors. The rectilinear timber profile creates a grounded, disciplined presence along the table edge, avoiding the bulky visual weight of conventional fully upholstered dining seating.

The structural framework is built entirely from solid wood. Each timber member is hand-selected and aligned to ensure uniform grain direction across the armrests, legs, and seat stretchers. Traditional mortise-and-tenon joints interlock the load-bearing frame, establishing a rigid chassis engineered to resist racking and joint looseness under repeated daily use. The natural jute cord is hand-laced and tensioned across the timber substructure, creating an ergonomic, breathable resting plane that accommodates natural movement without placing stress on the joinery.

In everyday living, the flexible woven jute panels yield comfortably to the body while remaining resilient over years of family dining. The hand-eased solid wood edges feel smooth when pulling the chair forward, and the calibrated arm height slides neatly beneath standard dining tabletops. Finished with a protective matte coat that resists spills while highlighting raw timber pores, the chair is designed and custom-made by NICCHRIS in Malaysia.
