The Joot Lounge Chair by NICCHRIS brings together an exposed wooden frame and woven jute seating, with an X-shaped structure that gives the chair its distinctive character.
The natural jute weave introduces texture against the clean, angular lines of the wooden frame. Unlike fully upholstered lounge chairs, Joot leaves much of its construction visible, making the relationship between the materials an important part of its appearance.
The matching footstool carries the same woven jute surface and angled wooden legs, extending the design into a complete lounging arrangement.

Joot’s internal chassis relies on high-tolerance mortise and tenon joinery developed through parametric scripting. Hand-fitted solid wood tenons seat into deep mortise housings, permanently eliminating joint looseness, frame racking, and squeaks.
Artisanal Handwoven Jute Architecture
Hand-strung using multi-ply twisted natural jute cord under calibrated tension across the seat and backrest. Delivers flexible ergonomic memory and organic breathability, aging with a deep, natural patina.
Hand-Rubbed Open-Pore Protective Sealants
Solid wood legs receive multiple coats of an ultra-matte, low-sheen protective sealant rubbed in entirely by hand. Shields against scuffs and moisture while keeping natural wood pores open to develop an authentic patina over time.
