The Tear Drop Lounge Chair by NICCHRIS takes a playful approach to seating, replacing the familiar structure of a traditional armchair with a generous rounded seat and an unexpectedly small, off-centre backrest.
What makes Tear Drop interesting is its deliberate asymmetry. Rather than following the usual arrangement of a centrally positioned backrest and two armrests, the design leaves much of the seating area open. The backrest rises from one side, creating a distinctive profile that changes depending on the angle from which the chair is viewed.
There is something appealing about the contrast between its broad, rounded seat and the smaller backrest. The proportions are unusual, yet the overall shape feels natural. Short, angled legs raise the upholstered body slightly above the floor, allowing its distinctive outline to remain visible.
