Design & Presence
The Chubby Dining Armchair commands the table with an expansive, sculpted silhouette and enveloping upholstered volume. Proportioned at 670mm wide by 590mm deep with an 860mm total height, its generous stance brings grounding architectural weight to executive dining halls and open living suites. The rounded armrests curve fluidly into the tall backrest, framing the dining setting while offering an embracing, cocoon-like posture during prolonged gatherings.
Beneath its tailored upholstery lies a structural solid wood foundation built to withstand continuous daily use. Solid timber legs are grain-matched and anchored into the internal load-bearing frame using traditional mortise-and-tenon joinery. This interlocking wood assembly resists lateral racking and joint looseness. Internal expansion tolerances allow the natural timber to breathe through seasonal humidity shifts, maintaining structural rigidity year after year.
Layered high-density foam cushioning provides calibrated lumbar and forearm support, retaining its clean form without sagging. Hand-finished solid wood legs feature smooth, eased arrises protected by a durable matte finish that repels handling scuffs and spills. Conceived, resolved, and custom-made by NICCHRIS in Malaysia, the Chubby chair brings sculptural presence and honest craftsmanship into the dining room.
