Design Provenance: The Architecture of Simplicity

"Simplicity of character is no hindrance to subtlety of intellect." — Confucius

"Beauty of style and harmony and grace and good rhythm depend on simplicity." — Plato

The Nooi 180 Sideboard brings natural rattan weaving into a contemporary storage design. Its defining feature is the woven rattan drawer fronts, arranged in a continuous horizontal pattern that adds texture and character to the cabinet.

At 180cm wide, the sideboard offers generous storage through multiple drawers, keeping everyday belongings organised and out of sight. The long wooden surface provides room for decorative objects, framed artwork or personal collections. Slender tapered legs elevate the cabinet from the floor, giving it a lighter appearance despite its substantial storage capacity.

Nooi 180 sideboard works beautifully in living rooms, dining areas or spacious hallways. The rattan detailing adds warmth to minimalist interiors and sits naturally alongside upholstered furniture, timber pieces and other natural materials. Its proportions also make it suitable for mid-century modern, Japandi and contemporary homes.

Part of the NICCHRIS ORIGIN collection, the Nooi 180 Console is made to order in Malaysia by NICCHRIS, combining practical storage with the distinctive character of woven rattan.

The Signature Aesthetic

As an integral expression of the NICCHRIS ORIGIN series, the Nooi 180 Sideboard is created for architects, interior stylists, and discerning homeowners curating environments that rival the pinnacle of European contemporary design. Perfect as a dining room buffet, gallery entryway console, or low-profile media credenza, its solid hardwood framework matures gracefully over generations developing an authentic patina that deepens through years of daily companionship.
