Design & Presence
The Mews Rack provides disciplined vertical display storage for modern living and dining spaces. Built with an open-profile solid wood framework, it establishes clear functional tiers while keeping ambient room light and wall sightlines uninterrupted. The balanced composition pairs the warmth of natural rattan with the clean transparency of tempered glass and aluminum, grounding the wall without visual bulk.
The structural chassis is built entirely from solid wood, united through traditional mortise-and-tenon joinery to create a rigid, wobble-free post-and-rail assembly. Heavy-duty tempered glass shelves sit inside precision aluminum rails that distribute weight evenly across the timber uprights. Along the bottom tier, hand-tensioned natural rattan webbing is recessed into the solid timber frame, allowing air circulation while concealing structural fixings.
In daily use, the open glass tiers provide an impervious surface for art books, ceramics, and glassware that cleans effortlessly. The tactile solid wood uprights are hand-eased along all edges, while a durable matte protective finish protects the wood against humidity and wear. Conceived and custom-made by NICCHRIS in Malaysia, the Mews Rack introduces enduring architectural storage to daily domestic life.
