Design & Presence
The Oliver Dining Table pairs modern stone surfaces with grounded timber geometry. Sized at 2100mm long by 1000mm wide with a standard 750mm height, its generous rectangular stance comfortably accommodates eight diners. Topped with resilient modern quartz or honed natural marble, the surface brings tactile cooling stone into open dining interiors. Inset solid wood legs maximize perimeter legroom, allowing armchairs to slide cleanly beneath the table while preserving room circulation.
The heavy mineral slab is supported from below by a reinforced timber sub-chassis. Structural mounting plates distribute the quartz or marble weight evenly into the solid wood perimeter framework. Traditional mortise-and-tenon joinery locks the inset solid wood legs directly into the structural apron, eliminating sway and joint fatigue under continuous daily hospitality.
In daily dining, hand-eased pillowed arrises soften the slab perimeter for forearm comfort during extended gatherings. Whether specified in non-porous engineered quartz for stain resistance or honed natural marble with deep mineral veining, the top is treated to repel oils and moisture. Conceived, resolved, and custom-made by NICCHRIS in Malaysia, the Oliver table brings architectural presence into the contemporary dining space.
