Two Layers, Two Materials, One Distinctive Shape
The Oreo Stool by NICCHRIS takes its character from the way two contrasting layers come together. A thick, rounded upholstered seat rests above a wooden base, giving the stool an almost stacked appearance that feels true to its name.
Look a little closer at the base. Instead of a plain wooden cylinder, a series of rounded vertical sections runs along its entire surface. The repeating curves create an interesting pattern, with the natural wood grain moving through each section. From different angles, the pattern catches the light differently, making the base an important part of the design rather than something hidden beneath the seat.
Above it, the generous upholstered cushion extends beyond the wooden base, creating a softer outline. The difference between the two layers is what gives Oreo its personality , one smooth and softly padded, the other shaped by the repeating curves of the wood.
The Oreo Stool can be placed beside a lounge chair as a footrest, used as extra seating, or positioned at the centre of a sofa arrangement, bringing its distinctive shape and wooden detailing into focus.
