Design & Presence
The Ovalton Dining Table brings fluid movement and conversational warmth to open dining rooms. Proportioned at 2200mm long by 1050mm wide with a standard 750mm height, its curved racetrack oval perimeter comfortably accommodates eight to ten guests without corner restrictions. The softened ends facilitate smooth room circulation, guiding foot traffic effortlessly around the dining space while creating an intimate seating dynamic.
Built entirely from structural solid wood, wide boards are hand-selected and grain-matched across the oval expanse to create continuous cathedral grain flow. Underneath, slotted internal expansion battens absorb natural timber movement across shifting regional humidity levels without surface checking. Traditional mortise-and-tenon joinery secures the sculptural timber legs directly into the reinforced load-bearing apron, creating an unyielding stance that resists racking over decades of daily dining.
Hand-eased perimeter arrises offer smooth forearm contact during long dinner parties and casual morning meals. Finished with a durable matte protective coating, the surface repels moisture, spills, and handling marks while preserving the natural tactile grain beneath. Designed and custom-made by NICCHRIS in Malaysia, the Ovalton table anchors the contemporary dining room with honest woodworking craft.
