Design & Presence
The Camb Rattan Dining Chair balances structured timber lines with the visual lightness of open cane webbing. Proportioned to seat comfortably along residential dining tables without congesting circulation paths, its silhouette introduces organic transparency into the room. The woven rattan back panel filters ambient light and room sightlines, keeping open-plan dining and living areas visually calm.
The structural chassis is built entirely from solid wood. Each timber member is aligned for continuous grain flow across the upright stiles, tapered legs, and seat apron. Traditional mortise-and-tenon joinery unites the frame into a rigid, load-bearing assembly engineered to resist lateral racking under daily use. The natural rattan webbing is hand-tensioned and recessed into the inner wood rebate, allowing the cane to flex without stressing the primary joints.
In everyday dining, the breathable rattan back provides flexible, well-ventilated posture support, while the high-density cushioned seat sustains comfort across long gatherings. The hand-eased solid wood arrises feel smooth underhand, protected by a durable matte finish that resists handling marks and dining spills. Conceived and custom-made by NICCHRIS in Malaysia, the Camb chair brings honest craftsmanship to the dining table.
