Design & Presence
The Shiro Dining Chair is defined by an understated, low-slung timber silhouette and disciplined architectural stance. Proportioned at 510mm wide by 570mm deep with a 770mm backrest height, its armless profile slides cleanly beneath dining tables to keep walkways unobstructed. The continuous horizontal curvature of the crest rail cradles the seated posture without visual clutter, establishing a quiet, grounded presence along the dining table run.
The load-bearing framework is constructed entirely from solid wood. Each timber section is hand-selected and aligned to ensure continuous grain flow across the curved back rail, seat apron, and tapered legs. Traditional mortise-and-tenon joints lock the structural frame into a rigid assembly engineered to resist lateral racking under repetitive daily forces. Slotted internal fasteners secure the seat foundation, allowing the solid timber to move naturally across regional humidity changes without joint fatigue.
In everyday living, the resilient cushioned seat and contoured crest rail provide balanced spinal support through long family meals and morning routines.
