Design & Presence
The Vin Arm Dining Chair is defined by an upright 900mm arched silhouette and disciplined timber stance. Proportioned at 570mm wide by 640mm deep, its high backrest envelopes the sitter while framing the dining table with structured vertical rhythm. The integrated armrests slope forward from the curved crest rail, providing dedicated forearm support while maintaining clear sightlines across the dining room.
The structural frame is constructed entirely from solid wood. Each timber section is individually chosen to preserve continuous grain direction along the arched back envelope, tapered legs, and arm rails. Traditional mortise-and-tenon joinery locks the load-bearing framework directly into the structural seat apron, establishing a rigid chassis engineered to resist racking and joint fatigue under daily use. Slotted expansion fittings beneath the seat cushion allow the solid timber to breathe naturally across seasonal humidity shifts.
In daily dining, the high-density cushioned seat and arched backrest deliver balanced spinal support through long evening gatherings. The hand-eased solid wood edges feel smooth when drawing the chair forward, while the calibrated 450mm seat height fits naturally under standard dining tables. Finished with a durable matte protective coat that resists handling marks and spills, the Vin Arm Chair is conceived and custom-made by NICCHRIS in Malaysia.
