The Betik Foldable Rattan Chair pairs architectural timber engineering with everyday functional versatility. Proportioned at 490mm wide by 510mm deep with an 820mm backrest height, its armless stance provides supportive dining posture while collapsing flat to a slender 120mm profile for effortless storage. Natural octagonal cane webbing across the seat and backrest establishes permeable visual lightness, preserving sightlines across compact dining spaces and multi-use living rooms.
The load-bearing frame is constructed entirely from solid wood, articulated by concealed stainless mechanical pivot hardware. Each timber member is grain-aligned through the upright stiles and diagonal bracing legs to carry continuous seating loads without flexing. The natural rattan panels are hand-splined under tension into perimeter timber channels, providing a compliant, resilient surface that contours to the body without stretching or sagging over time.
In daily living, the breathable cane weave allows natural air circulation, ensuring lasting comfort through long family meals and warm afternoons. Hand-eased solid wood arrises offer tactile, smooth contact points when setting up or stowing the chair, protected by a durable matte finish that resists handling scuffs and spills.
