Design & Presence
The Montana Dining Table anchors dining spaces with generous scale and honest timber geometry. Proportioned at 2100mm long by 1000mm wide with a standard 750mm height, its expansive rectangular presence comfortably accommodates eight diners while maintaining fluid perimeter walkway clearance. Broad, structural solid wood legs are positioned thoughtfully to offer open knee clearance and let dining armchairs slide neatly beneath the tabletop.
The frame is constructed entirely from structural solid wood. Hand-selected timber planks are grain-matched along the tabletop length to create continuous cathedral patterns across the expanse. Slotted internal expansion battens beneath the surface accommodate transverse wood movement across seasonal humidity changes without surface warping. Heavy-duty mortise-and-tenon joints interlock the legs into the perimeter apron, ensuring an unyielding chassis that resists lateral racking.
In daily dining, hand-eased perimeter arrises provide comfortable forearm support during extended meals and relaxed conversations. A durable matte protective coating seals the wood surface against liquid spills, hot serveware, and handling marks while keeping the natural tactile grain intact. Conceived, resolved, and custom-made by NICCHRIS in Malaysia, the Montana table brings enduring architectural presence into the contemporary dining room.
