Design & Presence
The Haruto Upholstered Dining Chair is defined by its low-slung timber perimeter and wrap-around armrest silhouette. Proportioned at 580mm wide by 560mm deep, its stance provides generous seating posture without overcrowding dining room pathways. The low 760mm backrest profile slides smoothly beneath standard table surfaces when not in use, maintaining open horizontal sightlines across shared dining and living areas.
The entire structural framework is constructed from solid wood. Each timber section is individually chosen to align the natural grain flow through the curved crest rail and tapered leg posts. Traditional mortise-and-tenon joints unite the continuous arm rails directly into the structural seat apron, creating an interlocking timber frame engineered to withstand daily lateral forces. Slotted internal mechanical fasteners secure the seat foundation, giving the solid timber room to breathe across seasonal humidity shifts without stressing the joints.
In everyday dining, the dense upholstered seat pad and supportive lumbar rail offer balanced comfort through extended evening meals. The hand-eased timber surfaces feel warm and smooth underhand when pulling the chair forward, while a durable matte protective finish shields the wood against liquid marks and daily handling. Conceived and custom-made by NICCHRIS in Malaysia, the Haruto chair brings honest woodworking integrity to the dining table.
