HERMIA Dining Chair
An architectural solid wood dining chair defined by a sculpted curved crest rail and a tapered timber leg framework.
Design & Presence
The Hermia Dining Chair is defined by its sculpted curved backrest and disciplined timber stance. Proportioned to fit cleanly around dining tables, its open silhouette balances structural weight with refined negative space, maintaining clear sightlines across open dining areas. The gentle curve of the crest rail cradles the back comfortably, encouraging natural upright posture without crowding the perimeter of the table.
The load-bearing frame is built entirely from solid wood. Timber sections are hand-selected to follow the natural grain flow through the crest rail and tapered rear legs. Traditional mortise-and-tenon joinery locks the legs securely into the structural seat apron, creating an interlocking chassis that resists racking under daily use. Slotted expansion fittings beneath the seat accommodate natural humidity shifts without stressing the timber joints.
In daily dining, the high-density cushioned seat provides balanced, resilient support through long evening conversations. The hand-eased perimeter arrises feel smooth underhand when sliding the chair out, while the matte protective finish shields against spills while preserving the open-pore wood texture. Conceived and custom-made by NICCHRIS in Malaysia, the Hermia chair brings honest woodworking integrity to the dining room.

Cohesive Interior Curation
Hermia is proportioned to accompany contemporary dining tables, executive conference rooms, and open dining halls. Consider pairing it with these complementary workshop pieces:
Zento Console
Serving as a dining room credenza or buffet sideboard, the clean horizontal geometry of the Zento Console anchors perimeter dining room walls. Its linear timber profile forms a crisp architectural backdrop that highlights the soft, curved crest rails of the Hermia Dining Chairs arranged at the table.
Mews Rack
The Mews Rack provides dedicated dining room display storage for fine dinnerware, glassware, and decanters. Its open vertical framework of solid wood, natural rattan, and glass tiers complements the warm timber construction and open silhouette of the Hermia chairs without cluttering dining room circulation.
