KOBU Solid Wood Barstool
An architectural solid wood barstool defined by a sculpted ergonomic seat, integrated structural footrests, and refined timber leg geometry.
Design & Presence
The Kobu Barstool brings tailored comfort and architectural timber presence to modern kitchen islands and elevated bar counters. Proportioned with a balanced footprint and available in both kitchen counter (650mm) and commercial bar (750mm) seat heights, its compact silhouette slips easily beneath overhanging counters while preserving open walkway circulation.
The chassis is built entirely from solid wood. Sculptural legs taper gently toward the floor, connected by integrated multi-level footrest stretchers joined with traditional mortise-and-tenon methods. This reinforced cross-bracing provides a stable perch for the feet while preventing lateral frame racking and joint wobble during daily use.
An ergonomically contoured solid timber seat features hand-eased perimeter arrises that eliminate pressure points along the thighs during morning coffee or casual evening drinks. Finished in a durable matte protective coating, the timber resists moisture, spills, and handling scuffs while preserving the warm, tactile wood grain. Conceived, resolved, and custom-made by NICCHRIS in Malaysia, the Kobu barstool brings honest craftsmanship to casual elevated dining.
