Design & Presence
The Mario Dining Chair is defined by its sweeping curved backrest and disciplined timber stance. Proportioned to fit neatly around residential dining tables without visually overcrowding the dining hall, its open silhouette balances structural solidity with refined negative space. The continuous curve of the crest rail cradles the upper back, providing supportive posture while allowing natural elbow movement during seated meals.
The chair frame is built entirely from solid wood. Each timber section is carefully selected to align the wood grain along the curved backrest and tapered legs, maximizing mechanical strength under daily lateral stress. Traditional mortise-and-tenon joinery locks the rear legs directly into the backrest crest and under-seat apron, forming a rigid timber framework engineered to resist racking and joint looseness over years of daily use.
In everyday dining, the high-density fixed upholstered seat pad delivers balanced, enduring comfort through long evening gatherings. The hand-eased solid wood arrises feel smooth underhand when pulling the chair forward, while the matte protective finish protects the timber against handling marks and dining spills.
