The Lonald Lounge Chair by NICCHRIS brings together solid wood, woven rattan, and upholstery in a design where each material has its own purpose. Its low seating position and wide wooden frame give the chair a relaxed appearance, while the open rattan backrest keeps the overall design from looking too heavy.
One of Lonald's most distinctive features is the way the wooden armrests connect to the backrest and legs. The timber extends outward from the backrest before forming the arms, creating a continuous outline with open spaces beneath. The gently angled rear legs and slightly reclined backrest give Lonald its recognisable side profile.
The woven rattan backrest introduces a different texture from the smooth timber frame. Its open weave allows light to pass through, making the chair feel less enclosed than a fully upholstered armchair. Below it, the upholstered seat has a gently curved shape that follows the width of the wooden frame.
