Design & Presence
The Vaso Side Table is shaped around a compact circular tabletop and a tapered, vessel-inspired pedestal base. Sitting comfortably beside deep armchairs and low sofas, its sculptural profile introduces subtle curves into rooms dominated by straight lines. The rounded outline eliminates sharp arrises from high-traffic walkways, providing a stable, accessible resting plane without crowding surrounding furniture.
Both the tabletop and the sculptural pedestal are built entirely from solid wood. We hand-select timber boards to align grain patterns evenly across the circular surface. Traditional mortise-and-tenon assemblies and internal mechanical bracing anchor the pedestal firmly to the top and base plates. Concealed expansion fasteners allow the solid timber to move naturally with seasonal humidity changes, preventing tension buildup and keeping the joints solid.
In daily use, the table provides a dependable spot for morning espresso, a reading lamp, or an evening drink. The hand-eased perimeter arrises feel smooth underhand, while the matte protective finish shields against water marks and daily scuffs while preserving the warm, open grain of raw timber. Conceived and custom-made by NICCHRIS in Malaysia, the Vaso table brings honest woodworking craft into daily domestic routines.
