Design & Presence
The Merton Side Table is shaped around a compact circular profile and a grounded structural column. Designed to sit beside low armchairs or at the corner of a sofa, its balanced proportions bring a quiet, architectural presence to the room. The round silhouette eliminates sharp arrises from high-traffic walkways, allowing comfortable circulation around deep seating while keeping personal items within natural arm's reach.
Both the circular tabletop and the supportive base are constructed entirely from solid wood. Each timber section is hand-selected and grain-matched across the circular surface to maintain continuous figure and balanced color. Beneath, traditional mortise-and-tenon assemblies lock the central uprights securely into the base plate, creating a rigid joint structure that resists wobbling. Internal expansion relief fittings allow the natural timber to breathe and adjust through seasonal humidity shifts without cracking or warping.
In daily domestic life, the table provides a steady resting plane for a morning espresso, a reading lamp, or evening drinks. The hand-eased perimeter arrises feel smooth underhand, while the matte protective finish protects against liquid marks while preserving the warm, open texture of real wood under your fingertips.
