Design & Presence
The Coral Barstool introduces warm organic texture and architectural timber presence to contemporary kitchen islands and elevated counter bars. Offered in both kitchen counter (650mm) and commercial bar (750mm) seat heights, its airy, disciplined footprint slides easily beneath overhanging counters while preserving open circulation and light transmission throughout open-plan living spaces.
The foundation is built entirely from structural solid wood. Slender timber legs taper toward the floor, bound by integrated four-sided footrest stretchers joined using traditional mortise-and-tenon craftsmanship. This perimeter cross-bracing provides an ergonomic, natural perch for the feet while preventing lateral frame racking, ensuring a stable, wobble-free chassis designed for daily hospitality.
At the center, a hand-woven natural rattan cane seat offers pliant ergonomic flexibility and cooling breathability during tropical mornings and extended gatherings. Hand-eased timber perimeter arrises eliminate thigh pressure, while a durable matte protective coating seals the wood frame against moisture and spills while preserving the tactile grain. Conceived, resolved, and custom-made by NICCHRIS in Malaysia, the Coral barstool brings honest craftsmanship to relaxed elevated dining.
