Design & Presence
The Pamelo Rattan Dining Chair introduces structured timber lines softened by an arched cane backrest. Proportioned at 490mm wide by 530mm deep with an 830mm total height, its disciplined footprint slides cleanly along dining table runs without congesting floor circulation. The open cane webbing filters daylight and room perspectives, maintaining open horizontal sightlines across shared dining and living areas.
The entire structural chassis is constructed from solid wood. Each timber section is hand-selected and grain-aligned through the arched crest rail, side stiles, and tapered legs to withstand continuous dining use. Traditional mortise-and-tenon joints interlock the load-bearing frame into a rigid assembly that prevents joint looseness. The natural rattan cane is hand-tensioned into the inner wood rebate, allowing the webbing to flex naturally under weight without placing stress on the structural frame.
In daily dining, the breathable cane backrest provides flexible, ergonomic support, while the high-density cushioned seat sustains comfort through long family meals. The hand-eased solid wood arrises feel smooth underhand when pulling the chair forward, protected by a durable matte finish that resists handling marks and spills. Conceived and custom-made by NICCHRIS in Malaysia, the Pamelo chair brings honest woodworking craft into the dining room.
