Design & Presence
The Miyazaki Dining Chair is defined by its sculpted timber profile and balanced organic stance. Proportioned at 520mm wide by 530mm deep with a 770mm backrest height, its silhouette provides generous lumbar support while maintaining open sightlines across dining areas. The low-profile crest rail slides smoothly beneath standard table surfaces when not in use, keeping circulation paths clear around the dining table.
The entire structural chassis is constructed from solid wood. Each timber section is hand-selected and grain-aligned through the curved backrest and tapered legs to withstand lateral stress. Traditional mortise-and-tenon joints interlock the legs directly into the under-seat timber apron, creating a rigid frame that resists joint looseness. Slotted mechanical fasteners secure the seat base, allowing the solid timber to adjust naturally through seasonal humidity shifts without joint fatigue.
In daily dining, the high-density cushioned seat provides resilient comfort through long family meals. The hand-eased solid wood edges feel smooth when pulling the chair forward, while the matte protective finish shields against spills while preserving natural timber grain. Designed and custom-made by NICCHRIS in Malaysia, the Miyazaki chair brings honest woodworking craft into the modern dining room.
